Faith--a
dog with Valley Fever:
Before the Session:
She is a lab mix, about 1.5 years old. We found her at our county
shelter. She couldn't stand. She is blind from her VF and it is in her
bones. It is in her jaw and in her hock. Faith weighed only 30 pounds
when we got her, she is now up to 42. Her blindness is either from her
105.8 fever, or the vf on her optic nerve. Sometimes I think she is
starting to see shadows, but I don't know.
After the Session:
There are several things I noticed about Faith. First, and it was a
shock to me, she actually JUMPED up onto the couch. She has NEVER done
this before. Just the fact alone that she is blind, then add the huge
lemon size bone lesion on her back right hock. I just about fell over
when she did this.
The other thing is her vision. I don't know but I swear she is starting
to see shapes. She is actually walking around toys strewn on the floor.
She is walking with her head up a bit more. Before she was walking
around like Eyore, nose to the ground.
Faith felt hot to me today. I will take her temperature. She vomited
last night and had diarreah twice (this is unusual). But she is eating
and drinking. Maybe the "toxins" are moving out of her body. We put her
on chicken and rice until the tummy settles.
Faith has been more active, walking around, trotting on three and
sometimes four legs. She is seeming a little more "bright" even though
her digestion is not up to par.
Thanks so much for helping her. You have no idea how much I appreciate
this.

When
we got home from work on Tuesday we took the dogs for a walk and were
they full of themselves! They ran like nuts the entire walk!
The next couple of days they were "settled" - very composed and
obedient. Both still ask to go out in the middle of the night though.
The paint horse (has stiffness issues) was more mobile and more
expressive after the energy work. He benefited the most visibly of all
3 animals and he was the one who needed it the most.

Thank
you so very much for your help with Angel. The first night she started
out sleeping on the floor, moved to the couch, back to the floor and
then back to the couch. When she finally got up she was very mellow.
There was no barking when she went out or no barking when she wanted to
come in which she always does. When I ate breakfast Angel sat in the
hallway where she could see me. She always is right by my side when I
am eating anything hoping to get some or hoping that I will drop
something. My other two Goldens are usually right there begging also,
but they just laid on the floor by my feet. When I was almost done,
Angel came to me and laid on the floor by my feet also. No begging at
all, which is not like her. She was really mellow.
When I fed my kids, Angel was still very mellow and just waited for her
food. No jumping around and barking like she always does. I always let
the kids out after they eat and instead of wanting to play with the
boys, Angel just laid down in the yard after she went potty and just
laid there. She did not come to the door and bark to be let in like she
does.
When I came up to get on the computer, Angel stayed down stairs (she is
always by my side and wanting to know where I am. She is a mamma's
girl.) She slept for over two hours. When she woke up she did come
looking for me. When she saw where I was, she laid down again and went
back to sleep.
When I ate a late lunch, again she did not come up to me and beg like
she does. She just laid down where she had me in sight. She was very
mellow the rest of the day and did a lot of sleeping.
These last two days though she has had a lot of energy and has done
very little sleeping. She had been feisty and sassy. (barking) Right
now, she is laying downstairs sleeping, which is not like her. She is
usually up here where I am.
Thanks again.
Kay :)
